About CMA

The practice was founded by Clive in 1978, we are a VAT registered, sole trader practising under the title of Clive Malim - Architects. Our work covers the conservation and regeneration of the local area and involves projects ranging from home extensions through to social re-housing. We are experienced in the handling of listed buildings often involving "brownfield" sites with a ground or mining history.
Our office is based within a converted old revenue office shared with other professions and the Police, with parking space.

Schemes are handled by both traditional drafting and CAD, using Drawing Express which is a system developed by the UK company Trial Systems. We can output drawings in most formats to suit. Drawings can be printed to either monochrome or colour with information speedily available in hard copy or over our the internet to clients and contractors.

Our current working area covers sites from Exeter and westwards.

Our experienced staff have been with the company in some cases for many years.
Clive Malim and Matthew Wills are the principal architects of the practice and with Christian Malim are the directors of the company.
Our Building Regulations advice and traditional hand drawing is done by Bob Bayston who is experienced in dealing with the practicalities of construction and detailing.
External design help comes from architect Michael Hockaday who has many years of experience in both public and private practice.
Our receptionist is Gill Styles who has been with the company for over 20 years and can help with queries.
We have a good rapport with many third party advisors in fields such as party walls and share our office building with Wellers Chartered Quantity surveyors.
